Asking for help

Hi, everyone!

So I got a commission from a friend to do a book cover for him. I just finished it and want to see if you all have any advice, critiques, details you would like to add, anything will help. Thanks

hope your art life is exciting and fun!

  1. Looks good! I like use of negative space :D. My only crit, it feels like the mans cape on the right might be a bit dark. because in terms of value he is on the same plane as the hawk which makes the bird and the snake huge. You mightt ry putting a light fog near the horse and the man to allude to atmospheric perspective to help further sell the idea hes further back. Although if the bird is huge and so is the snake then ignore everything i said hehe :) Hope this helps!~

    1. It is for a book cover, so should I lighten up the horseman when the cover will be a wrap around and so they wont be technically on the same ummm viewpoint, hmmm. I don't know, I'll still try it. Thanks :)
